FALLOW DEER HUNTING IN ARGENTINA
Fallow Deer
Description
The Fallow Deer (Dama dama) is one of the most elegant and striking species in big game hunting in Argentina.
Adult males weigh between 80 and 120 kg (175–265 lb) and are easily recognized by their majestic palmated antlers, making them a unique and coveted trophy.
Their coat varies widely — from the classic spotted brown pattern to completely white or black variants — enhancing their visual appeal even further.
Originally from Europe, the species was introduced to Argentina decades ago and has adapted perfectly to the open landscapes of La Pampa.
With its graceful posture and wary nature, the Fallow Deer is both a beautiful and challenging game animal for hunters.
Hunting at Hunting La Paz
Across our 20,000+ hectares (50,000 acres) of free-range land in La Pampa, Fallow Deer inhabit dunes, low brush, and open clearings, where they graze in small groups.
The primary hunting style is Spot & Stalk (on foot), taking advantage of the terrain’s natural relief for silent and strategic approaches.
During the rutting season (March–June), males become highly active and vocal, making it easier to locate them and plan strategic encounters.
These animals are extremely alert, demanding patience, stealth, and precision shooting from every hunter.
